Imaging is available onsite—but it is not automatic
Digital X-ray can be useful when the history and examination suggest that imaging would help answer a clinical question. At Henschell Chiropractic, the decision to take an X-ray is based on the individual patient rather than on the fact that a person was in a car accident or has back pain.
What X-ray can help evaluate
X-rays are best suited to showing bones, alignment and certain structural changes. Depending on the clinical situation, they may help evaluate suspected fracture, significant degenerative change, alignment concerns or other bony findings. They do not show every source of pain and are not a substitute for the history and physical examination.
How onsite imaging fits into the Henschell workflow
Convenience matters after an injury
When an X-ray is appropriate, having digital imaging in the same Bonney Lake clinic can reduce the need for an extra appointment at another location. This can be particularly helpful for accident and work-injury patients who are already coordinating medical visits, transportation and work schedules.
When X-ray is not the right test
Some conditions are better evaluated with MRI, CT, ultrasound, laboratory testing or medical consultation. If symptoms or findings suggest that X-ray will not answer the relevant question, the doctor may recommend another form of evaluation or referral. Onsite X-ray is a resource, not a reason to image every patient.
Pregnancy and pediatric considerations
Imaging decisions for pregnant patients and children require additional consideration. Age, developmental stage, symptoms, examination findings and medical context all matter. For pediatric patients, our goal is to use age-appropriate evaluation and avoid unnecessary imaging. Pregnancy status should always be discussed with the doctor before any X-ray decision.
