Family care that grows with you
Some patients first come to Henschell Chiropractic after an injury. Others are referred by a spouse, parent, child, friend or coworker who already knows our office. Many families continue with us through different stages of life. That continuity is an important part of who we are: an established Bonney Lake family practice with the additional experience and resources to care for people recovering from car accidents, work injuries and other musculoskeletal problems.
Care for children, parents and grandparents
Family chiropractic care is not one-size-fits-all. A child, a pregnant patient, a working adult, an athlete and an older adult may all arrive with very different concerns, activity levels and goals. Evaluation and care are adjusted to the individual rather than applying the same approach to every patient.
Dr. Alta Mahan — family, pregnancy & pediatric care
Dr. Alta Mahan is a family wellness chiropractor with a passion for caring for babies, children, expectant mothers and families through every stage of life.
She brings more than 27 years of education and experience, along with advanced perinatal, pediatric and postnatal certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
Dr. Alta has specialized training and experience in the Webster Technique, a chiropractic approach focused on pelvic alignment and function to help support comfort during pregnancy and preparation for birth.
Committed to lifelong learning and sharing her knowledge, she works with local obstetricians, midwives, lactation specialists and doulas to support the families she serves.
When the whole family is in a car accident
Car accidents do not always affect only one person. When several family members are involved in the same collision, each person may experience the event differently. An adult may develop neck or low-back pain while a child may initially report little discomfort, describe symptoms differently or notice problems later. Each family member is evaluated individually based on age, symptoms, examination findings and clinical need.
For families, being able to use one established office can make the recovery process easier to coordinate. Our team can evaluate musculoskeletal complaints, document relevant findings and functional limitations, provide chiropractic care when appropriate, and coordinate massage therapy or functional rehabilitation as part of the treatment plan. Imaging is available onsite when clinically indicated; it is not automatic simply because an accident occurred.
Common reasons families visit us
Patients come to Henschell Chiropractic for many different reasons. Common concerns include neck and back pain, headaches associated with neck or muscle tension, stiffness and reduced mobility, pregnancy-related musculoskeletal discomfort, sports and activity injuries, work-related complaints, car-accident injuries and pediatric musculoskeletal concerns. The examination helps determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate and whether another provider, imaging or additional evaluation is needed.
More than chiropractic adjustments
Depending on the patient's needs, care may include chiropractic treatment, massage therapy, functional rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise and onsite digital X-ray when clinically appropriate. The goal is not to fit every patient into the same service. It is to identify the problem, understand how it affects daily function and build an appropriate plan around the individual.
Our three chiropractors work alongside our massage therapy, rehabilitation and support team in one location. That coordinated setting is useful whether a patient is recovering from an accident, dealing with a work or activity-related problem, or simply wants help staying mobile and active.
